MH Softworks is a business name used by Marek Hovorka. It is not a separate company or legal entity.
In this Privacy Policy, “Barometer,” “MH Softworks,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Marek Hovorka as the operator of the Service.
This Privacy Policy is intended to explain:
- what information may be processed;
- which information remains on your device;
- which information may be transmitted to third parties;
- why information may be processed;
- the legal bases that may apply;
- which third parties may process information;
- how information may be retained;
- which rights and choices may be available to you;
- the limitations of our access to information controlled by your device or by third parties.
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have had an opportunity to read this Privacy Policy. Acknowledgement of this Privacy Policy is not a substitute for consent where applicable law requires consent.
Where processing requires consent, such processing will occur only after the relevant consent mechanism has been presented or consent has otherwise been obtained, subject to the operation of third-party platforms and applicable law.
Nothing in this Privacy Policy excludes, restricts, or waives any right, obligation, remedy, or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted, or waived.
- Scope
This Privacy Policy applies to:
- the Barometer Android application;
- ambient-pressure measurement and related calculations;
- application settings and locally stored preferences;
- advertisements delivered through the application;
- consent and advertising-privacy controls;
- purchases made through Google Play;
- Barometer privacy, terms, support, and informational webpages;
- support requests and other communications sent directly to us;
- information that Google Play or another authorised platform may make available to us in connection with the Service.
This Privacy Policy does not govern third-party applications, websites, advertising networks, payment processors, operating systems, application stores, device manufacturers, network operators, or other services that we do not own or control.
Those third parties may process information under their own privacy policies, contractual terms, technical systems, and legal obligations.
The inclusion of a third-party service, advertisement, link, library, or software development kit does not mean that we control every aspect of that third party’s processing.
- General Privacy Design
Barometer is designed as a primarily local, device-based application.
The core pressure-measurement and altitude-estimation functionality does not require:
- creation of a Barometer account;
- registration with us;
- submission of your name;
- submission of your email address;
- access to your precise GPS location;
- transmission of atmospheric-pressure readings to a server operated by us;
- transmission of calculated altitude, trend, minimum, average, or maximum values to a server operated by us;
- cloud synchronisation operated by us;
- a remote user profile maintained by us.
The application processes pressure readings and related calculations locally on your device.
The application nevertheless integrates third-party services for:
- advertising;
- advertising measurement and fraud prevention;
- consent and privacy-choice management;
- Google Play purchase processing;
- application distribution;
- platform security, diagnostics, and technical operation.
Those third-party services may independently collect or process technical, device, advertising, diagnostic, consent, transaction, security, and usage information as described below.
- Device Sensor Information
4.1 Atmospheric-pressure readings
If your device contains a compatible barometric pressure sensor, Barometer may access readings generated by that sensor.
The information processed may include:
- ambient atmospheric-pressure readings;
- a timestamp associated with each reading;
- the accuracy status reported by Android;
- measurement frequency and smoothing settings;
- session minimum, average, and maximum pressure;
- pressure trends;
- sample counts;
- derived or estimated altitude;
- manually configured QNH reference pressure;
- manually entered calibration altitude;
- pressure and altitude units selected by the user.
The application validates, smooths, and rate-limits sensor readings before displaying or using them.
Current-session readings are held in a bounded, process-local memory buffer. The current version is not designed to create a persistent measurement-history database or upload measurement history to a server operated by us.
The session buffer may be cleared when:
- you reset the measurement session;
- the Android application process ends;
- Android terminates the application;
- the device restarts;
- the application encounters an error;
- the information is otherwise removed from memory.
We do not intentionally include raw pressure readings, calculated altitude, QNH values, or calibration values as custom advertising-targeting parameters.
4.2 Derived altitude and contextual inferences
Altitude displayed by Barometer is an estimate mathematically derived from measured air pressure and the configured reference pressure. It is not obtained from GPS.
Atmospheric pressure can be affected by:
- weather;
- indoor air conditions;
- ventilation and air-conditioning systems;
- device construction;
- sensor calibration;
- sensor drift;
- temperature;
- the selected QNH value;
- rapid environmental changes;
- hardware or operating-system errors.
Pressure data or derived altitude may, in some circumstances and when combined with other information, reveal limited contextual information about a device or its environment. Barometer does not intentionally use pressure readings to determine your identity, precise location, movements, address, health status, or behaviour.
We do not operate a server that receives these readings from the core application.
4.3 No guarantee of measurement accuracy
The pressure and altitude information processed by the application is informational and approximate.
Barometer is not designed, certified, or intended for:
- aviation;
- aircraft operation;
- flight planning;
- air-traffic or navigation decisions;
- mountaineering safety;
- diving;
- emergency response;
- medical diagnosis;
- treatment;
- occupational safety;
- weather warnings;
- scientific or industrial measurement;
- any safety-critical activity.
You must not rely on the application as the sole source of information for any decision involving health, safety, navigation, property, legal rights, or financial interests.
This section explains the nature and limitations of the information processed by the application. Additional conditions concerning use of the Service may be provided in the Barometer Terms of Use.

- the advertisements configured in the application;
- the provider serving an advertisement;
- your device and operating system;
- your country or region;
- your consent and privacy choices;
- your Google account and advertising settings;
- whether an advertising identifier is available;
- whether personalised, non-personalised, limited, or technical advertising is permitted;
- legal and regulatory requirements;
- changes made by Google or another advertising participant.
Advertising providers may use automated systems to:
- select advertisements;
- personalise advertisements where permitted;
- serve contextual or non-personalised advertisements;
- provide limited or technical advertising;
- measure advertisement delivery and performance;
- enforce frequency limits;
- detect invalid traffic;

Google’s independent services are governed by Google’s own terms, privacy documentation, retention rules, and security systems.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for processing performed independently by Google or another third party outside our reasonable control.
- Consent Management and Privacy Choices
Barometer uses Google User Messaging Platform, also known as Google UMP, to request, store, refresh, and communicate advertising privacy choices.
The application requests an update of consent information when the application process starts. Advertising requests are not intentionally initiated until UMP reports that advertising requests are permitted.
Depending on your location, device, legal requirements, application configuration, and Google’s systems, you may be shown:
- a consent request;
- an advertising-privacy notice;
- a European regulations message;
- a United States state-privacy message;
- a privacy-options form;
- controls for personalised advertising;
- controls for advertising purposes or providers;
- another legally or contractually required message.
Your available choices may include:
- consenting to personalised advertising;
- refusing personalised advertising;
- selecting particular purposes or providers;
- requesting contextual, non-personalised, or limited advertising;
- reopening privacy options;
- withdrawing previously provided consent;
- exercising an opt-out where supported.
Even when personalised advertising is refused, Google or another provider may still process limited information where legally permitted or necessary to:
- deliver contextual, non-personalised, limited, or technical advertisements;
- maintain security;
- prevent fraud and invalid traffic;
- enforce frequency limits;
- perform aggregate measurement;
- comply with legal obligations;
- perform essential technical operations.
Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing performed before withdrawal.
Consent choices may be stored locally on your device and may also be processed by Google, a consent-management platform, or participating advertising providers.
The availability and appearance of privacy choices may change because of:
- your jurisdiction;
- Google configuration;
- consent status;
- regulatory changes;
- application updates;
- advertising-provider changes;
- technical availability.
Where a privacy-options entry point is required, Barometer provides an in-application control intended to reopen the relevant Google privacy form.
If the Google privacy form is unavailable because of a network failure, provider failure, incorrect device configuration, or another circumstance outside our reasonable control, you may also use Android and Google advertising settings or try again later.
- Remove Ads Purchase
Barometer may offer a one-time in-app product identified as “Remove Ads,” remove_ads, or a substantially similar name.
The purchase is intended to remove advertising from Barometer for the Google Play account that owns the entitlement, subject to:
- successful payment;
- successful purchase completion;
- Google Play reporting ownership;
- acknowledgement of the purchase;
- availability of Google Play services;
- use of the correct Google account;
- absence of a refund, cancellation, chargeback, or revocation;
- applicable platform rules;
- technical verification.
The purchase is intended to be:
- a one-time in-app product;
- non-consumable;
- not a subscription;
- processed through Google Play Billing.
Google Play may process:
- Google account information;
- billing-profile information;
- payment-method information;
- payment authorisation;
- order number;
- transaction identifier;
- purchase token;
- product identifier;
- price;
- currency;
- tax information;
- country or region;
- purchase status;
- pending-payment status;
- cancellation information;
- refund information;
- chargeback information;
- fraud-prevention and security information;
- device and account signals.
We do not receive or store your complete payment-card number, card security code, or complete payment credentials.
Barometer may receive limited purchase information necessary to:
- initiate the purchase;
- determine whether the product is owned;
- distinguish completed and pending purchases;
- acknowledge a completed purchase;
- restore an entitlement;
- respond to cancellation, refund, or revocation status;
- remove or restore advertisements;
- prevent misuse;
- provide support.
Purchase ownership is checked through client-side communication with Google Play. The current version does not use a purchase-verification server operated by us.
Because entitlement verification is client-side, we cannot guarantee that modified, unofficial, rooted, compromised, pirated, or otherwise unauthorised versions of Barometer will correctly enforce or report purchase status.
Google Play remains responsible for its own payment processing, payment-data security, account systems, and refund mechanisms under Google’s applicable terms and policies.
Removing advertisements does not necessarily:
- delete information previously processed by an advertising provider;
- delete consent records;
- prevent Google Play from verifying purchase ownership;
- prevent essential Google Play or Android processing;
- remove information controlled independently by Google;
- prevent support or website processing initiated by you.
- Purchase Restoration, Refunds, and Revocation
Barometer may request Google Play to refresh or restore purchase ownership:
- when the application starts;
- when the application returns to the foreground;
- when Google Play reconnects;
- after a purchase;
- when you manually request restoration;
- after reinstallation;
- after application data is cleared;
- when otherwise reasonably necessary.
A locally stored indicator that advertisements have been removed is not conclusive proof of ongoing ownership.
Access to the purchased benefit may be delayed, refused, suspended, restored, or removed where:
- Google Play does not report ownership;
- the transaction remains pending;
- payment fails;
- the purchase is cancelled;
- the purchase is refunded;
- a chargeback occurs;
- fraud or unauthorised activity is suspected;
- the relevant Google account changes;
- Google Play services are unavailable;
- the application data is corrupted;
- applicable law or platform rules require it.
Purchase, tax, accounting, complaint, dispute, and refund information may be retained by Google, payment providers, financial institutions, tax authorities, or us for the period required or permitted by applicable law.
- Application Analytics and Diagnostics
At the effective date of this Privacy Policy, Barometer does not intentionally integrate:
- Firebase Analytics;
- Firebase Crashlytics;
- Sentry;
- a proprietary user-analytics platform;
- a custom telemetry server operated by us;
- a custom crash-reporting backend operated by us.
However:
- Google Mobile Ads may process application interactions, advertising events, and diagnostic information;
- Google Play and Android may independently process installation, stability, security, purchase, crash, and performance information;
- Google Play Console may provide us with aggregated or limited diagnostic information;
- device manufacturers and operating systems may generate system logs or crash information;
- future versions may introduce an analytics or crash-reporting service.
If a future analytics or crash-reporting service materially changes the categories or purposes of processing, this Privacy Policy and applicable application-store disclosures will be updated as appropriate.
We do not promise that the Service will permanently remain free of every analytics, diagnostic, security, performance, or telemetry technology.

We do not sell personal information to third parties in exchange for money.
Privacy laws in some jurisdictions define “sale,” “sharing,” “targeted advertising,” or “cross-context behavioural advertising” more broadly than an exchange for money.
Under those definitions, advertising-related processing performed through Google AdMob or its advertising partners may be considered:
- sharing;
- targeted advertising;
- cross-context behavioural advertising;
- or, in some circumstances, a sale.
Where required by applicable law, consent, opt-out, restricted-processing, or privacy-choice mechanisms may be provided through:
- Google UMP;
- application privacy controls;
- Google advertising settings;
- Android privacy settings;
- Google Privacy Sandbox controls;
- another legally required mechanism.
We do not knowingly sell personal information belonging to children.
We do not offer a financial incentive in exchange for personal information.
A temporary application benefit received for viewing a rewarded advertisement is consideration for completing the advertising interaction and is not intended as a payment for selling personal information to us.
- Data Retention
Retention depends on the information, purpose, and entity controlling it.
21.1 Current-session measurement information
Current pressure samples and their timestamps are maintained in process memory for the active application session.
They are generally removed when:
- you reset the session;
- the application process ends;
- Android terminates the application;
- the device restarts;
- the memory is reclaimed;
- the information is otherwise overwritten.
System-level memory, diagnostics, crash dumps, screenshots, modified devices, or forensic systems may behave differently and are outside our direct control.
21.2 Local preferences
Application settings and local state are generally retained until:
- you change them;
- you clear application data;
- Android removes them;
- the storage becomes corrupted;
- you uninstall the application;
- your device is reset;
- they are overwritten during an update or migration.
21.3 Support communications
Support communications may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary to:
- resolve the request;
- document the response;
- verify that an issue was addressed;
- detect recurring problems;
- prevent abuse;
- maintain business records;
- protect legal rights;
- comply with applicable limitation periods and legal obligations.
Information may be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer reasonably necessary, unless continued retention is required or permitted by law.
21.4 Transaction and legal records
Purchase-related, accounting, tax, complaint, refund, dispute, and legal records may be retained for the period required or permitted by applicable law.
21.5 Website and security records
Website logs, security information, fraud-prevention information, and anti-abuse records may be retained for the period reasonably necessary to:
- operate and secure the website;
- investigate incidents;
- prevent recurrence;
- protect users;
- enforce rights;
- comply with legal obligations.
21.6 Third-party retention
Google and other independent third parties determine their own retention periods.
We generally cannot delete information controlled exclusively by:
- Google;
- payment providers;
- advertising providers;
- device manufacturers;
- operating-system providers;
- hosting providers acting independently;
- another third party.
Information may be retained for longer where necessary for litigation, regulatory inquiries, fraud prevention, security investigations, enforcement, legal holds, or compliance with law.
- Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to the nature of the Service and the information reasonably available to us.
Measures implemented in the current application include:
- local processing of core sensor readings;
- no MH Softworks account requirement;
- no custom backend receiving pressure measurements;
- limiting requested Android permissions;
- disabling cleartext network traffic;
- disabling standard Android application backup;
- using private application storage for preferences;
- maintaining session measurements in process memory;
- relying on established Google Play Billing infrastructure;
- requesting advertising-consent information before initiating permitted advertising requests;
- separating production identifiers and configuration;
- limiting direct collection of user information.
No application, device, network, transmission method, storage method, or security system is completely secure.
We do not guarantee:
- absolute security;
- uninterrupted availability;
- that information will never be lost;
- that third parties will never gain unauthorised access;
- that every device or operating-system vulnerability will be prevented;
- that every third-party service will always operate securely;
- that an unofficial, modified, compromised, or pirated application will behave correctly;
- that locally deleted information cannot be recovered through system-level or forensic means.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for incidents caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:
- a compromised device;
- malware;
- rooted or modified operating systems;
- insecure passwords;
- a compromised Google account;
- unofficial application copies;
- third-party backup or migration tools;
- operating-system vulnerabilities;
- device-manufacturer defects;
- network interception;
- unauthorised physical access;
- user error;
- force majeure events;
- third-party service failures;
- unlawful conduct by third parties.
You are responsible for:
- securing your device;
- securing your Google account;
- using a screen lock;
- installing security and application updates;
- using an official application source;
- reviewing device permissions;
- protecting backups;
- controlling screenshots and screen recordings;
- deciding what information to include in support communications.
- Personal Data Breaches
Where we become aware of a personal-data breach affecting information controlled by us, we will assess and respond to the incident in accordance with applicable law.
Where legally required, we may notify:
- the competent supervisory authority;
- affected individuals;
- relevant service providers;
- law-enforcement or other authorities.
Not every technical incident constitutes a legally reportable personal-data breach.
We are generally unable to investigate or notify you about incidents affecting information controlled exclusively by your device, Google, another independent provider, or an unauthorised third party unless relevant information is made available to us.
- International Transfers
We are established in the Czech Republic.
Google and other service providers may process information in countries other than your country of residence, including countries outside the European Economic Area.
Those countries may have different privacy laws and may not provide the same level of protection as your jurisdiction.
Where required, international transfers may rely on:
- adequacy decisions;
- standard contractual clauses;
- approved data-protection frameworks;
- binding corporate rules;
- contractual safeguards;
- statutory exceptions;
- explicit consent;
- another lawful transfer mechanism.
Third-party providers are responsible for applying the transfer mechanism relevant to their independent processing.
Information concerning Google’s international processing is available in Google’s privacy and business-data documentation.
- Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction and whether the relevant law applies, you may have the right to:
- be informed about processing;
- request access to personal information;
- request correction;
- request deletion;
- request restriction of processing;
- object to processing;
- withdraw consent;
- request data portability;
- opt out of targeted advertising;
- opt out of certain sales or sharing;
- obtain information about categories of personal information;
- obtain information about categories of recipients;
- appeal certain privacy-request decisions;
- complain to a supervisory authority;
- receive equal service and not be unlawfully discriminated against for exercising a right.
These rights are subject to:
- applicable-law thresholds;
- legal exceptions;
- identity-verification requirements;
- our ability to locate the information;
- whether we control the information;
- legal retention obligations;
- security and fraud-prevention considerations;
- the rights and freedoms of other persons;
- technical feasibility.
Where legally permitted, a request may be refused, limited, or subject to a reasonable fee if it is:
- manifestly unfounded;
- excessive;
- repetitive;
- impossible to verify;
- outside the scope of applicable law;
- directed at information we do not control;
- subject to a legal exception.
Because Barometer does not require an account and its core measurement information remains local, we may be unable to identify you or associate a privacy request with locally stored information.
We are generally unable to retrieve, correct, export, or delete information that exists only on your device.
To exercise rights regarding information controlled by Google, you may need to:
- use your Google account privacy settings;
- use Android privacy settings;
- use Google advertising controls;
- use the consent form in Barometer;
- contact Google directly.
To submit a request concerning information controlled by us, email:
Use the subject:
Barometer Privacy Request
Your request should identify:
- that it concerns Barometer;
- the right you wish to exercise;
- the relevant information or processing;
- information reasonably necessary to locate the relevant record.
We may request additional information reasonably necessary to verify your identity, authority, jurisdiction, and the validity of the request.
We will respond within the period required by applicable law. Under the GDPR, this is ordinarily without undue delay and within one month, subject to legally permitted extensions.

Where UK law applies, you may exercise applicable rights by contacting us.
You may also have the right to complain to the United Kingdom Information Commissioner’s Office.
International processing by Google and other providers may be governed by their own UK transfer mechanisms and privacy documentation.
- United States Privacy Notice
Depending on whether a particular state privacy law applies to us and the relevant processing, residents of certain United States states may have additional rights.
Categories of personal information potentially processed in connection with the Service include:
- identifiers;
- IP addresses;
- device and advertising identifiers;
- Internet or electronic-activity information;
- application and advertising interactions;
- approximate location inferred from IP address;
- commercial and transaction information;
- diagnostic and performance information;
- support communications;
- advertising inferences.
These categories may be processed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy and disclosed to the categories of recipients described above.
We do not knowingly use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about users for purposes requiring a separate right to limit such use.
We do not knowingly sell personal information for monetary consideration.
Advertising-related processing may constitute sharing or targeted advertising under some state laws.
Available privacy, consent, device, and Google advertising controls may be used to limit such processing where supported.
If an applicable law provides a right to appeal our decision concerning a privacy request, you may submit an appeal by replying to our decision and clearly stating that you wish to appeal.
- Children and Age Restrictions
Barometer is not directed to children and is not designed to attract children.
We do not knowingly request that children submit personal information directly to us.
The Service does not contain an independent age-verification system and cannot guarantee that a child will never download or access it.
Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising:
- application downloads;
- device use;
- Google Play settings;
- family-account settings;
- advertising settings;
- purchases made by minors;
- information sent through support communications.
A person who is under the minimum age required by applicable law to consent independently to relevant data processing must not provide personal information or make purchases without appropriate parental or legal-guardian involvement.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact:
We will review the request and take action where required by applicable law.
The availability of Barometer in a generally accessible application store does not mean that the Service is directed to children.
- Health, Safety, and Sensitive Information
Barometer is an informational utility.
It is not:
- a medical device;
- a healthcare service;
- a diagnostic tool;
- a treatment tool;
- an emergency-warning system;
- a certified meteorological instrument;
- a certified altimeter;
- a navigation instrument;
- a substitute for professional equipment or advice.
The application is not intended to collect health records, medical diagnoses, biometric identifiers, or other special-category information through its core features.
Do not include medical, financial, legal, authentication, or other sensitive information in support communications unless it is genuinely necessary and you understand the risks of sending it.
Pressure or altitude readings must not be used as the sole basis for decisions involving:
- medication;
- treatment;
- physical safety;
- emergency response;
- aviation;
- diving;
- mountaineering;
- driving;
- navigation;
- employment;
- finance;
- legal rights;
- any other important matter.
- Automated Processing
Barometer automatically processes pressure readings and calculates values such as:
- smoothed pressure;
- minimum pressure;
- average pressure;
- maximum pressure;
- pressure trend;
- approximate altitude.
This automated processing:
- provides requested application content;
- is performed locally;
- is not used by us to create a personal profile;
- is not used by us to make decisions about you;
- does not produce legal or similarly significant effects.
Advertising providers may use automated systems to select, personalise, deliver, measure, and protect advertisements.
Those providers are responsible for their independent automated processing and related disclosures.
- Third-Party Links, Advertisements, and Content
The Service may contain:
- advertisements;
- links to websites;
- links to Google Play;
- links to privacy documents;
- links to terms or support pages;
- advertiser-supplied content;
- third-party purchase interfaces.
We do not control and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, are not responsible for:
- third-party content;
- advertiser claims;
- third-party products or services;
- third-party availability;
- third-party security;
- third-party purchases;
- third-party privacy practices;
- information submitted outside services controlled by us.
An advertisement, integration, or link does not constitute our endorsement, representation, warranty, or guarantee.
Review the privacy policy and terms of each third party before interacting with it or providing information.
- Do Not Track, Global Privacy Control, and Similar Signals
The Barometer application is not a conventional web browser and does not independently respond to browser-based Do Not Track headers.
Where required and technically supported, consent status, restricted-data-processing settings, opt-out choices, Global Privacy Platform signals, or similar privacy choices may be communicated to participating advertising providers.
Website-level recognition of Global Privacy Control or similar signals may depend on the website, browser, consent platform, plugins, and applicable law.
We cannot guarantee that every third party will recognise or honour every browser, device, application, or platform signal.

Third-party SDK behaviour may also change independently through updates, remote configuration, policy changes, or changes to third-party systems.
This Privacy Policy and Google Play Data safety disclosures should be reviewed and updated whenever a material change affects information processing.
- Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
The updated policy will display a revised “Last updated” date.
Where required by law, we may:
- provide additional notice;
- display an in-application notice;
- request renewed consent;
- delay particular processing until consent is obtained.
Unless applicable law requires otherwise, an updated version becomes effective when published.
Continued use of the Service does not constitute consent where express consent is legally required.
You should review this Privacy Policy periodically.
- Language
This Privacy Policy may be translated into other languages.
The English version is the primary version unless mandatory law requires otherwise.
Translations are provided for convenience.
Where legally permitted, the English version will govern in the event of an inconsistency caused by translation.
This provision does not restrict mandatory consumer or privacy rights.
- No Expansion of Obligations
This Privacy Policy describes applicable practices and legal obligations.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, nothing in this Privacy Policy:
- creates a fiduciary duty;
- creates a contractual guarantee of absolute security;
- guarantees uninterrupted availability;
- guarantees measurement accuracy;
- guarantees data recovery;
- requires us to collect information that we do not otherwise collect;
- requires us to identify a person whom we cannot reasonably identify;
- requires us to retain information solely for a future access request;
- makes us responsible for information controlled independently by a third party;
- makes us responsible for information stored solely on a user’s device;
- prevents us from changing providers or technologies;
- creates rights beyond those provided by applicable law or an express agreement;
- constitutes an admission that any particular information is personal information under every applicable law;
